Engineer III
Overview
Role:
This is a technical role responsible for the installation, maintenance, monitoring, automating and configuration of primarily Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows Servers supporting critical application infrastructure across multiple data centers.
Candidates should be having 2+ years’ experience in infrastructure domain managing server operating systems, virtualization, containers, and various automations around that.

Responsibility
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge on virtual and physical servers in larger environment
- Understands large Linux environments with formal change management procedures
- Troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues across a distributed environment
- Exposure to automating routine activities using tools like Ansible, Shell Scripting, Python etc.
- Demonstrates initiative and teamwork to achieve the goals of the greater organization
- Basic knowledge of public cloud like AWS, GCP or Azure
- Good knowledge on container-based platform like OpenShift/Kubernetes
- Basic understanding of network like subnets, DNS, TCP/UDP, tcpdump, firewalls, LB etc.
- Very well versed with DevOps tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Duties:
- Perform server administration tasks to ensure that systems are operating as expected
- Work with application teams to configure or troubleshoot the systems
- Continually monitor the systems and resolve priority incidents to restore service
- Bringing new innovative solutions on table based on problem statements
- Assist in automating activities requiring pulling information or pushing changes across set of boxes
- Provide recommendations to reduce overhead/cost and process improvements
- Troubleshooting Linux Servers running Kubernetes managed workload
- Developing and managing microservices on various platforms like Python and using orchestration tools like conductor, Apache Airflow etc.
- Managing monitoring tools like Icinga, Prometheus, telegraf and other leading tools
- Developing various dashboards using Grafana and other visualization tools
- Developing playbooks in Ansible, Puppet tasks and plans
- On-Prem Infrastructure provisioning using tools like Terraform and Ansible
